🚨 Community Alert – Theft from Motor Vehicle 🚨

On Sunday 10th May around 0950hrs, unknown suspects approached an unlocked vehicle parked on a residential driveway. The suspects gained entry via the driver’s side door and conducted a search of the vehicle.

During the incident, sunglasses stored in a box within the centre console were taken before the suspects made off from the area.

There is currently no description of the offenders.

This type of offence is typically opportunistic, with offenders targeting insecure or unlocked vehicles.

Please take the following steps to reduce your risk:

Always lock your vehicle, even when parked on your driveway.

Double-check door handles before leaving your vehicle unattended.

Remove all valuables from your vehicle, including sunglasses, bags, and loose items.

Do not leave items on display, as these can attract offenders.

Keep keys secure and out of sight, especially near doors or windows.

Consider installing CCTV or doorbell cameras to deter offenders and capture evidence.

Ensure exterior lighting is adequate, particularly on driveways and parking areas.

Report any suspicious behaviour, such as individuals checking car doors late at night.
